New York: Chris Duval charged with Felony Animal Cruelty after police say he left his starving Pit Bull to suffer with an untreated mass that pushed its eyeball out

NEW YORK -- A 38-year-old Ontario County man faces charges of aggravated cruelty to animals after Humane Society investigators allegedly discovered a maltreated, emaciated dog inside his Phelps home.

According to the Ontario County Humane Society, while state troopers were executing a warrant on an unrelated matter on March 18 inside Christopher Duval’s residence at 580 County Road 26, they discovered an ailing pit bull named Zeus lying in a bare space on a feces-covered floor.

They say Zeus was reportedly found lying on a bare, feces-covered floor, and had an eye protruding from its socket, which they say was because of an untreated and neglected mass in his head.

The Humane Society adds that Zeus was euthanized after two veterinarians recommended it to relieve his suffering due to how emaciated he was.

The Humane Society reports that Duval was charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal. They say that this charge is a felony. He was arraigned in Hopewell Town Court. Duval was committed to jail without bail.
