Police officers arrived at Cruz's home around 1 a.m. on Nov. 30 and found the dog mauling a naked woman in a driveway. The officers shot and killed the pit bull.
Cruz initially claimed to police that his dog ACCIDENTALLY got loose and attacked his girlfriend.
A witness said she was by this pile of leaves, so exhausted that she wasn't even struggling or screaming any longer while the pit bull was "chewing on her" |
The victim suffered serious injuries with more than 10 surgeries and remained hospitalized long after the attack. During the incident, a stray bullet accidentally hit Cruz, but he was not seriously injured.
