SHARPSBURG, PA -- A man is recovering after being attacked by a pit bull in Sharpsburg on Sunday.
“I started running this way, and he grabbed me behind my knees,” said Corey Ferson.
Ferson said the attack happened on South Canal Street near his home. Ferson said the dog ran out from behind two parked cars.
“He took me down on the first bite,” said Ferson.
Ferson fought off the vicious animal and was able to get away, but he was left with injuries.
Ferson, who works as a cook at a local restaurant, needed seven stitches. Since no one has claimed the dog and it remains on the loose, Ferson's now enduring rabies shots and medical bills.
“I don’t have any money. I pay rent. It’s terrible,” said Ferson.
Ferson’s main concern is neighborhood safety. He’s worried someone could suffer a fate much worse than his with the pit bull on the loose.
