Pit Bulls Cause Woman To Flee

ILLINOIS -- Two pit bulls reportedly drove a Prospect Hts. woman out of her home last week.
The woman, who lives on the 300 block of E. Clarendon Street, contacted police at 10 p.m. Sept. 7.

She said two pit bulls ran inside her home when she opened the front door. The pit bulls allegedly attacked one of her dogs and growled and snapped at the woman.

The woman reportedly fled the home leaving the pit bulls and two other dogs inside.

The resident previously owned the two pit bulls and is reportedly known from a previous incident where she was cited for allowing the dogs to run loose and attack another dog.

The woman said she had since given the two dogs to a man in Mt. Prospect.

Officers arrived at the home and spotted the injured dog through the window. When the pit bulls moved away from the dog, officers entered and got the other two dogs out of the house.

The injured pet was reportedly taken to a clinic for treatment.

Since the pit bulls were contained in the now empty home, police decided to wait until the next day to have animal control come and take care of the dogs. The woman reportedly spent the night at another location.
