Vegas juveniles charged in kitten deaths
NEVADA -- Two 11-year-old boys have been charged with animal cruelty in connection to the deaths of six newborn kittens in west Las Vegas.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, the two juveniles were suspected of throwing rocks at a feline that was giving birth in the 9600 block of W. Russell Road on Oct. 9.
Police said a nearby resident was alerted to the sound of breaking glass at a nearby apartment building. Witnesses also said they saw two juveniles throwing rocks against a building.
Police said the rocks were being thrown at a cat giving birth, which ultimately led the deaths of the kittens.
An investigation by Metro's Enterprise Area Command Problem Solving Unit led to the arrests of the boys.
The two were arrested on Thursday and booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall. They each face seven counts of animal cruelty, Metro said.
