NEW JERSEY -- A North Bergen man who works as a chef at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was arrested Friday for starving his two dogs, authorities said.

Benjamin Smallman, 25, of 86th Street in North Bergen, was arrested on Friday around noon after an investigation by Hudson County Animal Control found Smallman had starved and abused his dogs, officials said.

The dogs, two black and tan Rottweilers  named Ozzie and Zeus, have been taken from the home and are under the care of Dr. Carlos Triana of Summit Animal Clinic in Union City.

According to Johansen, Ozzie and Zeus will be housed at Summit Animal Clinic until they make a full recovery and will be put up for adoption.

Smallman was charged with four counts of cruelty to animals. He was taken to Hudson County jail and held on $2,500 bail with no 10% option.
