Jesup police arrested A.J. Michael Sellers, 22, and Kelsey Renae Block, 18, both of Jesup, for animal torture.

A police officer said both Sellers and Block were arrested at work shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A spokesperson at the Buchanan County Jail said both Sellers and Block bonded out Wednesday night. The spokesperson said Sellers bond was set at $2,500 cash and Block's was set at $2,000 cash.
Police believe Sellers and Block are connected to the animal torture of a dog, nicknamed "Caleb" by the public after he was found.
The dog was found covered in feces and urine inside a crate that was dumped alongside Independence Avenue in Waterloo a few weeks ago.
Last week, authorities arrested Ty Hickman, also of Jesup, and charged him with torturing an animal. He was later released from the Buchanan County Jail.
"If it wasn't for the public, this case probably would have went unsolved," said Animal Control Officer Maria Tiller.
Tiller said the graphic photos of "Caleb," in addition to a cash reward, have created a public outcry.
"Without the public, Caleb would have been just another statistic," said Tiller.
Jesup police say the case is still considered "active," and there could be additional suspects.
Police Officer Andy Isley said the community support has been instrumental in the arrests.
In addition to the charge of animal torture, Sellers is also charged with harassment of a public official for providing false information to a police officer during the course of the investigation.
Agape Fosters near Reinbeck offered a reward for a tip leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Thanks to donations from the public, the reward jumped up to $7,500.
