GEORGIA -- A 9-year-old boy was treated for bites Thursday evening after he was attacked by a dog while playing outside his home on Huff Lake Road, Athens-Clarke police said.
He and his brother were playing basketball when a dog started to chase them, but when the younger boy’s shoe fell off he stopped and was attacked, according to police.
The victim’s brother kicked the dog, which ran away.
The boy was taken by ambulance to Athens Regional Medical Center for several bites to his arm, according to police.
Their family was relatively new to the neighborhood and were unfamiliar with the dog, which was not located.
