Humane officer rescues baby owl in North Ridgeville

OHIO --  A baby owl, unable to stand on its own, was rescued by a humane officer on playground equipment in North Ridgeville.

Humane officer Barry Accorti saved the baby Great Horned Owl at South Central Park on Wednesday.

According to police, the owl couldn’t stand up because it was so young.

The owl was taken to the Bay Nature Center where workers will try to find its nest and reintroduce the owl to it.

If they can’t find the nest, they will transfer the baby to a raptor center to be cared for until it can be reintroduced to the wild.
