Franklin County man charged with animal cruelty

PENNSYLVANIA -- Officials with the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter say Shawn Robinson of the 200 block of Catherine Street in Chambersburg has been charged with 16 counts of animal cruelty.

Investigators found the remains of five puppies in a shoe box on the porch.  The puppies died of canine parvovirus, and investigators say Robinson didn't provide them with proper veterinary care.

Officials say they found months-old dog waste inside the home.

Robinson could face up to 90 days in jail for each count.
