TEXAS -- A horse owner is scheduled to appear in municipal court Wednesday on a complaint filed by the city concerning the condition of horses in his pasture.
On Nov. 10, Cuero Police investigated the condition of four horses owned by Robert Gibbs, 409 Palmie St., after a citizen expressed concern about their condition.
Cuero animal control officer Scott Sullivan told Cuero Police that he had been in contact with Gibbs and was aware of the horses' conditions.
Sullivan had planned a follow up visit for Nov. 11.
According to the police report, Gibbs said the horses had been separated from a larger herd to better provide for them until they were healthier.
Cuero Police Chief Jay Lewis said Gibbs is known to adopt horses to sell later.
No charges have been filed. The horses remain in Gibbs' pasture.
Chuck Wilson is the Cuero municipal judge.
