Tulsa man charged for animal abuse caught on video

OKLAHOMA -- A concerned neighbor emailed our news partners at FOX23 cellphone video of the man hitting a dog with a stick in his backyard near Pine and North Denver.

After FOX23 talked to the man, deputies handcuffed him and took in for questioning.

Deputies said that video shows Clement Hall striking the dog numerous times and he didn’t deny it.

“I’m accused of beating my dog. That’s the furthest thing from the truth. I wasn’t beating the dog. I was whipping the dog,” Hall said.

He said he was whipping the dog he calls Red because the dog bit him.

“I’m going to whip them every time they attempt to bite me or anybody else. Not beat them. I love animals and I do not beat them,” Hall said.

 The neighbors don’t agree.

“He’s beating that dog. If he thinks he isn’t, he’s a fool,” one neighbor said.

Animal Control officers took all of the dogs away and deputies cuffed and took Hall in for questioning. Hall was charged with animal abuse Thursday evening.
