Owner indicted after dog found nearly frozen to death

TENNESSEE -- A Joelton man has been indicted for animal cruelty after his dog was found nearly frozen to death last January.

WKRN News 2 reports that neighbors rescued Maggie, the 10-year-old lab owned by Thomas Gill, after finding her starved and almost frozen to death in a driveway.

Gill told animal control officers he left the dog there because “she had cancer and was going to die anyway.”

The animal control officers nursed Maggie back to health. She was so malnourished she needed a doggie wheelchair.

Gill is scheduled to appear in court July 23.
