VIRGINIA -- A second woman wanted in an animal cruelty case was located and arrested Monday night.
Paula Easley (aka Paula Snipes Easley) was supposed to appear in Danville Circuit Court in February in order to appeal a conviction of animal cruelty in Danville General District Court regarding a female pit bull seized from her house last August.
A bench warrant was issued by Judge Jim Reynolds after Easley didn’t show up for her court date.
Easley was found guilty in Danville General District Court in November of unlawful tethering of an animal, inadequate care of an animal, animal cruelty and inadequate space for an animal.
After missing multiple court dates, police arrested Easley on Monday night. She was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning on her appeal, and according to court documents, withdrew her appeal prior to court.
She was sentenced to six months in jail.
Easley’s daughter, Ella Snipes Easley, appeared in Danville Circuit Court in February and was sentenced to four months in jail.
