Cat shot with an arrow in Viking

CANADA -- A cat owner in Viking, Alta., is looking for answers after her pet feline was shot with an arrow.

Erika Josephison posted the shocking images on Facebook of her beloved cat Tiny with an arrow sticking out on both sides of the orange cat's body.

The arrow appears to have entered through Tiny's back with the sharp end piercing through the cat's left shoulder on the other side.

The cat survived the ordeal, though is said to have suffered immensely and now has a limp caused by a bone chip in his shoulder.

Now, concerned citizens are trying to find the person responsible and bring them to justice.

"Who would do that to a pet? I sure hope you find the person who did this. This is so disturbing," wrote Jackie Jeffery on Josephison's Facebook page.

A relative of Josephison's speculated it could have been someone travelling through the community who stayed in an RV park near to where Josephison and her cat live, making the culprit hard to find.
That being said, Josephison has offered a reward for anyone who can identify the person who shot Tiny.

In 2010, Misty the cat was shot through the head with an arrow in Wainfleet, Ont., and another cat, named Arrow by veterinary staff, was shot through the chest with an arrow in Toronto in 2009. Both of those cats survived.

Report info on this to Viking RCMP at 780-336-3434, or any instance of animal cruelty to the Alberta Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at 1-800-455-9003.
