ARIZONA -- Pima County Sheriff’s Department deputies have arrested a man for allegedly leaving six dogs in a truck at a south side hotel.
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, 65-year-old James Hutchinson was charged with six counts of cruelty to animals.
The deputies responded to the Red Roof Inn, located at 3700 W. Irvington Rd. Officials said four dogs were left in crates in the bed of the truck.
Two other canines were found inside the cab. The windows were rolled about 4 inches down.
The deputies said the temperature inside one of the crates was 102 degrees. The deputies could not find the owner of the canines when they arrived on scene.
Pima Animal Care Center was immediately contacted and the shelter picked up the dogs.
PACC veterinarians examined the dogs. They said they are not very social and will be held for the time being. The canines will be put up for adoption if Hutchinson, the owner of the animals, relinquishes ownership.
Hutchinson returned to the hotel at around 1:40 p.m. The deputies arrested Hutchinson and transported him to the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

This man was at PACC today, trying to get the dogs back. HE has had 70 dogs confiscated in Pima County Arizona in the past 30 days. Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall feels that this man is not doing harm to dogs, so he is facing a couple of misdemeanors. Please express your outrage and CALL Ms. LaWall at 520.740.5600. Ask for her assistant (Isabell and Pat)...tell them you demand TRUE JUSTICE to make this guy stop and want FELONY CHARGES. Thank you.
