OREGON -- A dozen underweight dogs and cats were rescued Wednesday from a flea-ridden RV at Silver Falls State Park, the Oregon Humane Society said.
A Humane society agent reported finding six dogs, six cats, and two reptiles living in unsanitary conditions inside a RV at the park east of Salem. All the dogs and cats were significantly underweight and were "infested with fleas."
The pets were relinquished to the Humane Society by the owner. No citations have been issued at this point.
Staff took the pets to the OHS Holman Medical Center for immediate treatment. A spokesperson said they will need significant care before they can be adopted out.
