Tennessee: Parkway Village man Herlis Alcantara, 35, indicted after shooting German Shepherd

TENNESSEE -- Herlis Alcantara, 35, was indicted on four counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to animals and reckless endangerment on Tuesday according to Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich. He is currently free on a $35,000 bond.

On April 11 at around 3:30 a.m., Alcantara is accused of firing shots at the home of an acquaintance near East Raines Road and Hickory Hill Road in the Parkway Village neighborhood of Memphis.


One of the shots struck the family’s German Shepherd, who survived, but required $150 worth of veterinary fees. The five human residents, including two children, we unharmed.

The homeowner identified Alcantara, who was a former neighbor. He was arrested two days later.
