NEW YORK -- A toddler and a woman were taken to the hospital with injuries from a dog attack in East Harlem, officials say.
The 1-year-old was taken to Cornell Hospital with scratches on the mouth after a dog apparently pawed at the child, police said. A woman was also taken to the hospital with bites to the leg and arm.
She's in serious but stable condition at the hospital.
The dog was with its owner, whose relationship to the child wasn't immediately clear. Police said the dog's owner may be a caretaker.
