Georgia: Woman walking her Maltese is attacked by Kirk Funk's Pit Bull and Mastiff-Boxer mix

GEORGIA -- Two dogs charged and repeatedly bit a woman and the dog she was walking in a Sept. 29 attack in the 100 block of Lakeview Estates Drive, sending the woman to the hospital.

The woman was on the way back to her home with her Maltese dog around 8 a.m. when a blue nose Pit Bull and Mastiff-Boxer mix came at her and her dog, according to a Putnam County Sheriff's Office incident report.

She picked up her dog to protect it, but the attacking dogs still were able to bite it and severely bite both of the woman's arms and her left leg multiple times.

EMS transported the injured woman to St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Greene County.

Animal control officers seized the pit bull and mastiff-boxer.

Their owner, Kirk Jason Funk, 44, of 141 Lakeview Estates Drive in Putnam County was cited for two counts of animals attacking a pedestrian in public way, two counts animals at large and two counts no proof of rabies.
