UNITED KINGDOM -- Essex Police said the victim, in her 20s, was walking her dog near Markham’s Chase when another dog – a Staffordshire Bull Terrier – came towards her.
She grabbed the dog’s collar and asked its owner– a white man aged between 16 and 20 – to put it on a lead.
However, the man 'became aggressive', said police, and pushed the woman to the floor, then punched her in the face.
He also attacked the woman's dog, kicking it in the face.
The incident occurred at roughly 2pm on Tuesday, October 18.
The attacker was a white male, 16-20 years of age, roughly 5’9”, slim and had brown hair which was shaved at the sides but longer at the front. He wore a blue jacket, grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers (tennis shoes).
His dog had brown patches and wore a red harness.
Essex Police urged anyone with information about the man and dog to contact PC Chris Hoy at Basildon police station by dialling 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
