Child mauled to death by 2 Pit Bull dogs in Durban

At 17h10 on Saturday Afternoon Netcare 911 and provincial paramedics responded to Helmsley Grove in the Cato Manor area of Durban for a child that had been attacked by two Pit Bull dogs. The exact detail to the incident and preceding events is still speculative.
Paramedics arrived at the family home and found the three-year-old-girl with life threatening injuries. Paramedics from various services worked fervently to save the life of the severely mauled child. Tragically, despite all their effort the little girl was declared dead at the scene.
SOUTH AFRICA -- A three-year-old girl died and her six-year-old brother was seriously injured when they were attacked by a family dog in Locke Place in Mayville, Durban, on Saturday afternoon, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
“Just before 5pm Rescue Care paramedics raced to the scene in Mayville,” Rescue Care spokesman Garrith Jamieson said.
“On arrival they found a three-year-old child who had sustained critical injuries. Immediately advanced life support paramedics worked on the child. However, the child was in cardiac arrest.
The South African Police Service and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were on the scene and put the dog down. They did not specify the breed of the dog.
