Following an investigation, Moss Point Police say the abuse happened at a home in the 6200 block of Henry Street.
Upon collecting evidence from the scene, police found the cat not far from the home. It was "clinging to life" according to reports, but died of its injuries.

An autopsy later revealed the cat suffered thermal burns on most of its body. -- basically it was scalded to death
Investigators are now working to find out how owns the animal, as well as the person who recorded - and posted - the video on social media. According to Moss Point police, all suspects involved will be charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal.
Update: LaDerrick Rostchild, 24, and Larry Rostchild Jr., 43, were charged.

Pascagoula mother and son arrested over the weekend in connection with copper theft
MISSISSIPPI -- A mother and son from Pascagoula were arrested by two different police agencies over the weekend, according to authorities.
Jackson County Deputy Glenn Clark was patrolling the unincorporated area of Moss Point at 6:30 a.m. Saturday when he spotted a man trying to dismantle one of the outside air conditioning units at Orange Lake Elementary, Sheriff Mike Byrd said.
The school was closed last year as part of the Moss Point School District restructuring.
"He was trying to steal the copper air conditioning coils so he could sell them," Byrd said.
The suspect ran and Clark was unable to catch him, but found a vehicle the man left behind, Byrd said.
The vehicle was registered to Tamika Rothschild (Tamika Rostchild), of Monaco Lake Drive in Pascagoula, Byrd said.
Byrd said as Clark was checking the vehicle's license plate, Rothschild was calling the Pascagoula Police Department to report the vehicle stolen.
As a result of the Sheriff's Department's investigation, Rothschild's son, Laderrick O'Neal Rothschild, 19, also of Monaco Lake Drive, was arrested in connection to the school incident.
Laderrick Rothschild was charged on a burglary of a commercial building offense.
Tamika Rothschild was later arrested by Pascagoula police investigators on a charge of falsely reporting a crime, Byrd said.
Laderrick Rothschild remained in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center Monday afternoon awaiting an initial hearing before a county judge.
If convicted of burglary of a commercial building, Laderrick Rothschild could face up to $10,000 in fines and 10 years in prison.
Tamika Rothschild could face up to one year in jail or $1,000 fine if convicted of false reporting of a crime.
