Kentucky: "He was eating something in the middle of the street" - Animal Control leaves killer Pit Bull with its owner WES GRADY after it mauls and kills pet goats

KENTUCKY -- Investigators say people living near River Park Circle in Lexington heard the screams behind their homes.

They thought it was a woman or a child screaming over and over, disturbing them so much they called the police.

But when police and animal control officers arrived at the scene, it was determined those screams came from several baby goats from behind a house on neighboring Trent Boulevard.

"I past by and saw a pit bull running in the street, he was eating something in the middle of the street," said neighbor Endia Burton.

Investigators tell us that pit bull was responsible for killing two goats.

"Them goats looked bad, I mean, there was no point to it. It was just awful seeing. I didn't think my dog would ever do it," said the dog's owner, Wesley Grady.

Grady says his nine month old pit bull had wandered several blocks from his home, found the goat pen, and burrowed underneath the chicken wire surrounding it to get to the goats.

We spoke with neighbors who say the people who live in this house aren't home that often, but when they do come home, they'll find a note explaining why exactly they're two goats shy in their back yard.

"I'm just out whatever they want for their goats and I gotta pay court costs and the fine for my dogs," said Grady.

[Let's have some compassion for an animal that is chased, tortured, mauled, killed and partially eaten by what most people still consider a puppy - a nine-month old dog! But nope, this pit bull owner is only concerned about what he'll have to pay out of pocket. What a moron.]

"I will take care of him. I will keep him on a leash and keep him inside from now on," he added.

It's a plan not good enough for some who live nearby.

"I think the dog should get put up for what happened," said Burton.

But for now the dog will stay in his owners care.
