United Kingdom: Man and his dog attacked by loose Pit Bull while simply taking a walk
UNITED KINGDOM -- Alex Wood posted on Facebook January 23, 2018 at 7:01am ·
I just don’t understand how some people own dogs!
Be careful if your walking your dog, my Dad and Alfie were attacked over Central Park yesterday evening around half 6.
The dog is a Brown Brindle Staffordshire Pit Bull terrier and owner is a young black male around 20 years old. The dog had deliberately left his owner to attack Alfie who was over 100 meters away.
The dog is dangerous so avoid coming into contact!
What a nice way for my Dad to spend his birthday. Obviously the wine helped.

My parents dogs Sasha and Holly were attacked un-provoked by a Staffordshire pit bull terrier on Thursday the 4th of January on the path that runs along the side of B&Q just off Shakespeare Road in Eastleigh.
Thankfully they are now both safe and sound but have come away with some serious wounds. My parents would like to thank the man that helped my dad pull the dogs apart if we can find him so please share. So far we have had no news on the whereabouts of the Pit Bull so please be aware if you are walking around this area.

California: After family's Springer Spaniel is attacked by a Pit Bull in his own yard, one vet after another fails them
CALIFORNIA -- Just want to share more about Rowdy’s story and why he means so much to our family. Barry and I raised our three kids, Josh, Jeremy and Lesli with Landy, who was my Springer Spaniel puppy when Barry and I met.
She was a huge part of our family and was 14 years old when she left us. We loved her so much.
Jeremy and Kristen started their family the same way... Jeremy had his Chester boy, a sweet funny rescue pup who was part of the package when they were married. Unbelievably, they lost Chester when an owl snatched him from his new backyard just after they moved to their new home, breaking their hearts.
In an effort to restore the tragic loss of Jeremy and Kristen’s beloved family pet, Barry knew it had to be what we called a Landy dog... and Rowdy arrived! What should have been great times for all with this rambunctious puppy, turned horrific when we lost Barry just four weeks later...
Rowdy has been such a comfort and helped fill the void of not having Barry and was the last gift Jeremy received from his dad...
Unfortunately on Christmas Eve Rowdy was Attacked by a pit bull in his own backyard.
Jeremy didn’t see the attack but knew something was wrong and rushed him to a vet that night but the vet didn’t shave him and told Jeremy it was bruised muscles, gave him tramadol and some anti inflammatory meds, said he’ll be fine in a few days.
Jeremy even called back 36 hours later and said it seemed like he was swollen and they said it’s normal, the next morning he started to bleed out his wounds that we never saw until they had abscessed.
That was when Jeremy rushed him to the 2nd hospital that promised him they had it under control and he’d be fine under they’re care, again another flawed treatment.
Jeremy’s not a doctor and has never dealt with something like this. After realizing Rowdy was in terrible shape we rushed him to a 3rd emergency vet clinic where they told him it was too late and Rowdy wasn’t going to make it, he was in septic shock and his kidneys were shutting down.
Jeremy was absolutely crushed and demanded they try anything possible, the doctor agreed to try a blood transfusion and luckily it gave Rowdy an extra day to be able to be transferred to a critical care facility in Ontario CA.
Again the Doctors said it was about a 25% chance he’d make it but Jeremy insisted on trying everything they could to bring Rowdy back to life, he’s now been under they’re care for several days and has beat every odd thrown at him.
At one point they said it was time to end the battle, Jeremy, Kristen along with Reed and Ella, Kristens dad Rick, Lesli and myself we prepared to say our last good bye and Rowdy gave us one last bursts of energy sat up wagged his tail and gave us all the look of “don’t give up on me” so we asked for the doctor to examine him and sure enough the doctor said “he is the strongest dog I’ve ever seen in his condition let’s give this another day”.
Rowdy has now made some much needed improvements, his Liver and kidneys have started coming back to life! Rowdy wants to live and is a walking miracle, we can’t lose him and are going to fight this as long as Rowdy is able, that being said this fight is coming at a huge financial burden and if you feel lead to help support Rowdy’s fight our family greatly appreciates your help.
UPDATES:

Thank you for all of you prayers and support. Rowdy will need months of care to bring him back from this...but he has proven over and over he wants his life back and we will do anything to make sure he has it.
No donation to help Rowdy is too small please give?? This family needs your help!! Thank you.

All checked in for another sleep over with my dude, doc called me a few hours ago with good news, said his wounds have stopped spreading and it looks like the antibiotics are finally killing whatever bacteria is in the wounds, it’s a small step but at least it’s a good sign his immune system is working, next big hurdle is to get his liver and kidneys to start healing, they are worse then yesterday but they’ll do another blood test around 4am to see where his levels are at, if they can at least stop them from getting worse that’ll give us a good sign the drugs are starting to win and Rowdy’s winning the battle.
#3
Absolutely amazed at the surprise they had for me, he’s doing so good after having some food in his system for 24hrs, still along way to go but he’s surpassing every expectation the doctor had for him. #prayforRowdy #heiswinning #thelongroadhome

Whooooooo hooooooo good news!!! Kidneys have dropped from 4.8 to 2.7! And liver has dropped from 6.6 to 4.6!!! This is a huge step in his recovery, he’s going to make it!! We have a lot more work but the most important was getting his organs functioning.
Every donation helps Rowdy’s family afford his much needed care. He’s been in the hospital since Christmas Eve... this is an ongoing process to bring him back to his happy self... thank you for your donations, prayers, and support ??

California: "Today I took my Springer Spaniel to the dog park, and as soon as the gate was opened she was attacked by a Pit Bull"
CALIFORNIA -- Electa Wright posted on Facebook to Porterville Dog Park Supporters January 2, 2018 ·
To those who take this dogs to the Porterville Dog Park:
Please please pleaseee make sure your dog is friendly with other dogs, not just the dogs they’re used to being around.
Today I took my Springer Spaniel to the dog park, and as soon as the gate was opened she was attacked by a Pit Bull.
My dog cowered down, and couldn’t defend herself. She tried to get away, but the pit bull wouldn’t let go of her.
After lots of kicking and yelling the dog finally let go, and my poor dog was left with 2 puncture wounds to the neck, and 1 to the face.
All we wanted to do was just have a good time playing with other dogs, but instead left with an injured and very frazzled dog. I would never want anyone to have to go through such a traumatic experience.

United Kingdom: Pit Bull, which attacked woman's Springer Spaniel, is tracked down by wardens
UNITED KINGDOM -- A dog which attacked a woman's Springer Spaniel while on the loose in Poole has been located.
The 'stocky' dog, believed to be a Staffordshire Pit Bull Terrier or similar, was spotted on a section of the Castleman Trailway a number of times over the past few weeks but never with an owner.
One dog owner said she had been left "shaken" after the dog approached her from behind, before pinning her dog Maisie to the ground.
Other walkers said they intended to avoid the popular footpath until the dog was located.
But now, after the dog wardens at Borough of Poole were informed of the incidents, the dog was tracked down.
Jeff Morley, Team Manager, Borough of Poole, said: “The dog is owned by a local resident which on occasion escapes from the back garden onto the Trailway. We have given advice to the owner.”
Ooh, yeah, that should do it. Give the owner some advice!

Canada: Joelle Mbamy, 54, makes her first court appearance after being charged with animal cruelty
CANADA -- A Penticton woman made her first court appearance following charges for animal cruelty.
Court records show Joelle Mbamy was charged with three offences taking place January 18, 2017, one count of causing unnecessary suffering and pain to an animal, one count of owner failing to provide necessities for an animal and one count of causing an animal to continue to be in distress.
The charges followed the investigation and subsequent seizure of three dogs from a Scott Avenue residence on Jan. 23.
Neighbours noticed the dogs had been suffering neglect, left for hours at a time outside in cold weather.
Animal protection officer Kathy Woodward called it a case of “clear neglect,” noting two of the dogs had ear infections and all had mites on their pads from living in their own urine, feces and mud.
Mbamy, born in 1963, made a first court appearance on March 22. Her next court date is scheduled for April 26.
ORIGINAL STORY
A Penticton woman accused of leaving her dogs to suffer outside in the winter, underfed, wet and freezing cold, has been charged with three counts of animal cruelty.
Charges were laid against Joelle Mbamy, 53, for causing unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal, failing to provide necessaries for your animal and causing an animal to continue to be in distress.
On Jan. 23 2017, the South Okanagan SPCA seized three dogs from Mbamy’s Penticton home.
The multi-month SPCA investigation culminated in the seizure of the three dogs that neighbours said were often left in a tiny cage and could be heard whining in discomfort throughout the night, even in sub-zero temperatures.
“The owners were never home, they almost never let the dogs out,” said neighbour Laurie Price in January.
“They were so skinny you could see their ribs. They would fill up a bucket with food and just throw it in the cage in the morning, on the ground with the feces. Then they wouldn’t feed them again until the next day.”
One of the dogs was so emaciated it scored a “one” on the canine body conditioning scale of one to nine, denoting severe malnutrition. Five is the ideal number. It was rushed to veterinary care.
The two other dogs are considered a two on the scale or very thin.
All of the dogs had serious ear infections and grade-three dental issues, as well as yeast infections in their paws from walking on feces.
WEEKS OF COMPLAINTS UNTIL SOMETHING FINALLY DONE
Mbamy had her first day in court on March 22 and is expected back before the court on April 26, 2017 to consult legal counsel.

3 LOST PUPPIES- PENTICTON AREA
Sometime last week a story was told to me about the theft of three 7 to 8 week old Springer Spaniel puppies from a yard in Penticton, you may know the people who this happened to, Joelle Mbamy and her daughter Donna, Joelle runs the Sunrise Pharmacy in downtown Penticton.
Over the years Joelle has tirelessly served this community in many different ways and helped many individuals very selflessly and works long hours at her business and many endeavors throughout our community.
This has been very devastating to her and her daughter and I hope with YOUR help we can possibly find information related to this crime of opportunity.
If you have any information or have heard anything regarding Springer Spaniel puppies in or around Penticton or maybe anywhere for that matter, please contact Joelle directly from the numbers in the attached image or simply call the Penticton RCMP or Crimestoppers with details about this case so they know what you're talking about.
I'm sure there aren't too many Springer Spaniel puppies of that age and size that just happened to be acquired around the same time these went missing.

Lauri Price is breathing a sigh of relief today after three neglected dogs were seized from a neighbour's property in Penticton yesterday.Cruelty Investigation Officer Kathy Woodward confirmed at that time that the dogs were removed from the home with a warrant and that she would be recommending charges against the owner.
A B.C. SPCA animal protection officer, the RCMP and a vet seized two springer spaniels and a rottweiller-cross from the home on Scott Avenue yesterday morning, Jan. 23.
“The dogs were very sick," Price says.
She first noticed the animals several months ago, but says she has been frustrated in her efforts to get the authorities to investigate.
“I wish I’d gone to the media sooner, because that’s what really got this ball rolling,” she says. “It was heartbreaking to watch. Seeing them rescued was an emotional moment for me."
Mbamy had her first day in court on March 22 and is expected back before the court on April 26, 2017 to consult legal counsel.
