GEORGIA -- A Jottings Drive resident told police Tuesday that she got a 12-year-old boy away from an apparent pit bull Tuesday afternoon after seeing the dog bite the boy's left hand.
The attack happened shortly after 3 p.m. at Jottings Drive's intersection with Dehaviland Street. She described the dog as a brown pit bull mix. After it bit the boy's hand, she managed to get the child into her car without additional injury.
Firefighters and medics came to treat the dog bite, and the boy was taken to a hospital. Police summoned Columbus Animal Control to find and capture the dog.
