Police shoot pit bull in North Phila.

PENNSYLVANIA -- Police shot and injured a pit bull terrier this morning after it threatened a group of adults and children in North Philadelphia.


Police were responding to a call for two loose pit bulls when they observed the dogs on the 2900 block of North Taylor Street.

Police say they saw the dogs attacking three cats. When the dogs started moving toward a group of adults and children, one officer discharged his weapon.

One dog was struck.

Officers from the Philadelphia Animal Control Agency were called to the scene to aid the injured dog.
