Two years later, Douglasville pit bull attack victim seeks damages

GEORGIA -- A Douglasville woman, who was attacked and seriously injured by three pit bulls nearly two years ago, is seeking more than $1 million in damages.

Frankie Forsh, 56, was on a walk in her neighborhood on July 5, 2010, when three pit bulls escaped from a nearby yard. They tackled her and bit into her face, arms and ankles before they were broken up by a neighbor who came running to the rescue.

Forsh, who had to be rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital and ultimately underwent plastic surgery, suffered wounds across her body that still have not healed.

Her attorney, Jack Clay, argued before a judge Monday that his client needs to be compensated $1.25 million in damages, paid by the dog owners and dog-sitter.

"I remember the dogs, one jumping on my arm, and one on my face, just pulling back the skin," said Frankie Forsh, recalling the events of July 5, 2010. "I have flashbacks sometimes, and I still ask 'why me?'"

Clay expects the judge to make a decision on the request for damages within a few days.  However, he does not expect his client to receive any money, due to the financial situations of the defendants.
