Tiverton woman faces animal cruelty charges

RHODE ISLAND -- A Tiverton woman is facing dozens of counts of animal cruelty.

Police said Natasha Paradise lived at a home on Cliff Street where she kept several different animals including four kittens, a dog, fish and a cat.

Neighbors called police when they heard the dog screaming and then suddenly stop.

When the animal control officer arrived, he said the conditions inside the home were deplorable and the home was infested with fleas.

"This is the worst as far as flea infestation and on the leaving your animals and taking off," said Paul Bell, Tiverton Animal Control officer.

Paradise was charged with unnecessary cruelty to animals, mistreating and abandoning animals.
