United Kingdom: Happy ending for Charlwood horse named Boomer after fire crews free him from ditch

UNITED KINGDOM -- This horse rescued in Charlwood is expected to make a full recovery after becoming stuck in a ditch.

The horse known as Boomer was trapped on Monday afternoon (March 7) after falling into the narrow causeway at Fiveoaks in Charlwood Road.

Firefighters from Esher and Horley were "delighted" the horse had not sustained long-lasting damage apart from emerging covered in mud.

A spokesman for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire crews were called to the incident at around 12.45pm yesterday after a horse became trapped in a ditch.

"Two pumps from Horley and Esher attended and the horse was rescued after about an hour and half."
