California: Small dog being walked on leash is mauled by pit bull; pit enthusiasts rush to defend pit bulls

CALIFORNIA -- "One of our foster dogs was attacked by a pit bull in Moorpark this morning.

"The owner of the pit bull took our dying dog to an emergency vet and dumped her there to die.

"Our foster was in shock covered blood. Once at the emergency vet the foster called me and asked what to do. I asked her to get our dog to our vet.

"The emergency vet would not release our dog until we paid 897 dollars for the iv fluids they put in her Arm. We got her to our vet at Camino and she may not make it.

"We called the pit bull owner and she hung up on us. We called animal control they said call the cops. We called the cops they said call animal control.

"I am posting this for advice but also for prayers for shalay"

When a person or an animal is attacked by say, a Labrador Retriever, I don't recall EVER seeing people rushing to social media to blame the media for mentioning the breed or saying the news story would've never been posted if it were a different breed. I don't recall people for posting photos of themselves with their Labs and insisting we all "blame the deed and not the breed". I don't recall Lab owners posting non-stop the tired quote about how 'it was the Dobermans in the 70s, the Rottweilers in the 80s'. Lab owners don't insist that the dog MUST have been provoked or MUST have been abused and that's why it attacked a person/child/animal. Lab owners don't tell us to not contact the media for fear that it will only incite 'Lab hate'. Lab owners don't insist they were mauled by Poodles or that Chihuahuas bite the most.

These people are bizarre.
