California: Man devastated when his little dog mauled to death by two pit bulls. Owner ran off with dogs after the attack

CALIFORNIA -- On October 3rd at around 10pm my nephew Marc was walking his dog Molly (pictured below) when Molly was viciously attacked by 2 pit bulls, one tan and white and the other gray, white. They were with a heavier white or light Hispanic man in his late 30s or early 40s with dirty blond hair. This unidentified man walked up with these dogs on a blue and white rope and they viciously attacked Molly.

Molly was driven by a Stockton Police Officer to a vet hospital where she died from her injuries.

This happened near the Food for Less on Eldorado and March lane, near Yokuts. The man fled with his dogs leaving my nephew and his dog there with injuries. He ran east on Yokuts, then onto Woodstock street. Police could not locate him.

UPDATE.... it's possible these same dogs attacked and killed 2 cats that belonged to a man on Woodstock lane This happened in August. He described the same 2 dogs but during that incident they were running loose by themselves.

Jamie Vaughn: This is heartbreaking. I'm truly sorry. I hope they find the scumbag responsible and hold him accountable. Most likely, this isn't the first time this has occurred. Many of us are afraid to walk our dogs due to idiots like this who fail to properly care for/maintain their pets. I pray no one else has to go through this. ??
