Connecticut: Off-duty Colchester police officer rescues injured owl tangled in batting cage netting

CONNECTICUT -- An off-duty Colchester police officer saved an injured owl on Monday night.


The officer was notified of an owl stuck in a batting cage net. Officials said the officer immediately worked to help the animal.

The distressed owl only sustained minor injuries, including a dislocated leg.

It is currently recovering with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The owl will be rehabilitated and then released back into the wild.
