Florida: Bradley Hubbard, 23, jailed for raping his dog. Roommate says abuse went on "for years"

Full name: Bradley Jean Hubbard
DOB: 10/21/1993
Arrest age: 23
Arresting Agency: Escambia County Sheriff's Office

FLORIDA -- A 23-year-old Pensacola man is accused of having sex with RAPING his dog.

Bradley Jean Hubbard was arrested at his Pelham Drive home Monday after his roommate told authorities he'd been abusing a pit bull named Baby Girl for years.

The roommate told authorities she held off on telling them for years because she "did not want to get Hubbard in trouble." She said she finally realized the situation had gotten so bad that she "fears for the safety of the dog."

The last straw for the roommate was on Dec. 28. She said Hubbard had taken Baby Girl from her, brought the dog to his bedroom and locked the door.

She told deputies she heard the bed making noises while Hubbard grunted and moaned. At that point, she "could not take it anymore," so she ran outside and called the Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO).

When a deputy called Hubbard's father about the allegations, his response was that his roommate is "crazy," he was upset his dog had been removed from the home, and his dogs had their vaccines.

Hubbard is in the Escambia County Jail on a $15,000 bond. He is charged with engaging in sexual conduct with an animal.

Allegations of ongoing sexual abuse

The roommate told ECSO deputies that she noticed Hubbard had been having sex with his dog for about three-and-a-half years.

She said Hubbard's father even knew about the abuse, but covered for his son.

In one instance, the roommate claimed she saw Hubbard engaging in a sexual act with Baby Girl when she passed by his room. The dog was "licking him all over" as he lay in the bed, she claimed.

She told authorities she saw the dog make contact with Hubbard's genitals. When she entered the bedroom to confront him, Hubbard yelled at her, told her to get out of his room and called her crazy, she claimed.

What started as infrequent incidents escalated during 2016, the roommate said. The witness said Baby Girl used to whimper and cry out in pain each time it was victimized, but now the dog no longer did so.

Deputies remove Baby Girl from the home

The responding deputy removed the dog from the home and took it to get checked out at a local veterinary clinic.

The deputy noted that Baby Girl was "very aggressive" and loyal to only one human at a time.

The veterinarian performed a rape kit on the animal, which revealed her injuries were consistent with the roommate's claims of abuse.
