OKLAHOMA -- An Oklahoma man is behind bars after deputies say he tried to steal livestock worth thousands of dollars.
Brandon Douglas Campbell, 34, of Hugo was arrested early yesterday morning by Choctaw County deputies after a rancher caught him stealing 10 head of cattle.
It happened at a farm southeast of Soper.
"The rancher gave chase and chased them approximately half a mile. The passenger bailed out and ran off. The rancher was able to detain the driver of the pickup until a deputy was able to arrive," Sheriff Terry Park said.
He's lucky the rancher didn't shoot him dead.
Campbell was booked into the Choctaw County jail; he's facing charges of cattle theft.
Deputies are still searching for his partner who ran off.
