According to the Limestone Sheriff's Office, the child was bit in the face by a pit bull.
The dog, a family pet, is being quarantined for ten days, according to Sheriff Dennis Wilson. The incident happened at the family's home located on FM 1953.
The call came into the sheriff's office at 1:48 p.m.
The child was taken to the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck and then flown to Scott & White in Temple and is expected to be fine.
