Essex Police said the two Staffordshire Pit Bull Terriers were taken by specialist handlers with their owners' consent after reports they had attacked another dog.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "We received a call at 11.55am today about a dog being attacked by other dogs in Britannia Crescent, Wivenhoe.
"Officers attended the address, seized the dogs and are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
"The injured dog was left in the care of a vet."
