I was a member of a GSD group ("German Shepherd Dedicated Owners"). Someone's shepherd was attacked by a pit mix and they posted there. I commented in the manner that pits are not safe.
Two hours and 20+ comments later they deleted my comment. I left the group.
How do they flock together so fast? Do really so many people own pits?

Julia Lewis - That's terrible! Censorship.
Mihaela Mihaljević Jakić - Yep, too many concerned members. They were actually equating GSDs to pit bulls. I pointed out that GSD owners should not have to fight for pits, it is not their fight. ..
Julia Lewis - It does get one wondering because that kind of thing seems like an orchestrated response.
Julia Lewis - Yes, I hate it when GSDs are seen as equivalent to pits, just a different shape.
Mihaela Mihaljević Jakić - Yep. Can a GSD bite, sure. Will it kill you, no. It is a shepherd, protective, not aggressive.
Julia Lewis - A very different dog. Bred for a very different purpose.
Liz Crane - A GSD can definitely kill a person if it wanted to. Especially a small child
Mihaela Mihaljević Jakić - Liz Crane, They were not bred to kill. They may be trained to attack, but the urge is not in their nature.
Jane Hands - GSD's have killed. So have Rotts , Dobes, all the big breeds are capable of it but it is so unusual that people are surprised by it...
Mihaela Mihaljević Jakić - They have deleted my comment on the topic that a GSD Bella was attacked by a pit mix.
Stephanie Ward - I can’t find that post but when you search the page for pit bull, there are tons of attacks or negative interactions
Mihaela Mihaljević Jakić - Stephanie Ward, It was a post from today. The dog's name is Bella.
