Missouri: Wayward deer outside grocery store caught by police and relocated back to the woods

MISSOURI -- It wasn't the typical call for service for two Ozark, Missouri Police officers Wednesday, when they answered an animal complaint at a Casey's Store.

The department posted about the incident on its Facebook page, showing officers wrangling a young deer outside the store on Jackson Street Wednesday afternoon.

The officers stopped the animal from getting in the store and from running into traffic.  It was released unharmed into nearby woods.

Here's the department's post:

Ozark Police Department - Ozark, Missouri posted on Facebook November 22, 2017 at 9:27pm ·

Just when we thought we had seen it all, today at 4:23pm Officers Schwartz and Cabrales were dispatched to an animal complaint near Casey's General Store (1950 W. Jackson Street). A young deer was in the parking lot and attempting to enter the store.

The Officers were able to successfully capture the deer to prevent him from potentially running into an unsuspecting motorist on HWY 14.

With the assistance of a concerned citizen, the deer was relocated to a nearby forested area to ensure the safety of the animal and motorists.
