New York: Robin Mills, 66, Found Guilty Of 22 Counts Of Animal Cruelty

NEW YORK -- A Bay Shore woman charged with neglecting 21 dogs and 1 exotic bird in her care was found guilty of animal cruelty on Tuesday, according to Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross.

Robin Mills, 66, was convicted by a jury trial of 22 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty, Gross said.

 

She was charged on May 11 with failing to provide proper sustenance for the animals and confining them in unhealthy and unsanitary conditions, the SPCA said.

She was arrested after numerous complaints and a vigorous in-depth investigation by Suffolk County SPCA Detectives and Humane Investigators, the SPCA said.

  
  

She is scheduled to be sentenced in January 2018.
