According to police, the man, Austin L. Medina, 18, of Randolph and two juvenile males, one 15 of Denville and one 16 of Rockaway Township, were arrested Dec. 16 for an incident which occurred on May 17.
According to police, the Hunan Taste Restaurant, located at 67 Bloomfield Ave. in Denville, reported that their exterior Koi pond had been vandalized. The protective netting was torn from the top of the pond and large landscaping rocks were thrown at the fish in the pond, causing several of them to be injured. A large koi fish is seen being removed from the pond at 4:05am (and likely abused/killed/discarded off-camera).
The video surveillance footage and the reported incident circulated through the media and through social media for about six months, police said.
Recently, the Denville Police Department followed up on an anonymous tip that was called in by a citizen. As a result of the investigation, Medina and the two juveniles were all charged with theft, criminal mischief and animal cruelty offenses. They were arrested, processed and released on their own recognizance, pending a court appearance.

I knew Austin Medina in high school, nice to know he's still a sad little parasite. I hope he rots in a cell for a few years.
