South Carolina: Dog mutilated in Georgetown County; search is on for suspect

SOUTH CAROLINA -- The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a dog’s sex organ was cut off in Andrews.

Authorities say on Thursday, June 9, deputies met the dog’s owner who said when he arrived to his home on Winterberry Drive, his yellow lab retriever walked to him, bleeding from his genitals, according to an incident report.

The owner took Mayor Pain to a vet who said it appeared that someone had completely cut the dog’s penis off. She also noticed more cuts around the fleece that covered around the area, the incident report added.

The dog then underwent surgery at a Mount Pleasant Veterinary Specialty Care.

We’ve learned from the dog’s owner that once in awhile the animal jumps the front fence by the driveway to get out and roam the area. The owner added that someone had to cut the dog when it was roaming around the neighborhood.

Major Pain’s owners are offering a $500 reward of information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) to attacked him.

If you have any information on this crime, contact your local law enforcement agency or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
