Ohio: Aggressive Pit Bull running loose yet again; owner arrested this time

On 20 Apr 17 two dogs belonging to Brittany Wheat, age 27, 1901 Michaelis Road, Marietta, were running loose, going onto the neighbor’s property and attacking their dog. Wheat advised the fence was broken, which was how the dogs were able to escape the property.

A summons is being requested for Wheat for failure to restrain through Marietta Municipal Court. (805)

On 21 Apr 17 Sgt. McGilton was dispatched to 300 Starlite Drive Lot #4, Marietta, in reference to an aggressive dog running loose. 

This dog was a brindle and white Pit bull dog found to belong to Miranda D. Derby, age 32, of this address.

This dog had been loose multiple times in the past and Derby had been warned to restrain her dog. A catch pole was used to capture the dog and subsequently the dog was transported to the Humane Society. 

A summons for failure to restrain is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Derby. (see below)

THE FOLLOWING SUSPECTS WERE PROCESSED INTO THE WASHINGTON COUNTY JAIL BETWEEN MONDAY 22 MAY 17 AND TUESDAY 23 MAY 17:

Miranda Dawn Derby, age 32, 109 Washington Street, Marietta, for confinement and restraint of dogs, a Misdemeanor.

Derby was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Black of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 May 17 at 5:24 pm.
